Artists provide nuanced insights into the complex realities of our lives, shedding light on urgent societal issues that affect everyone. This program is dedicated to exploring artistic and narrative techniques that enhance diverse viewpoints. It aims to use creativity to connect communities, reshape public conversations, and promote values that are inclusive, equitable, and supportive of democratic principles.

The program will investigate five unique storytelling dimensions:

1. Digital Arenas: This area includes social media, online platforms, and virtual environments where stories spread globally in an instant. The focus will be on cultivating ethical, inclusive online narratives that counter misinformation and leverage digital spaces for authentic storytelling.
2. Creative Currents: This aspect looks at how artistic and cultural expressions shape stories within and outside traditional cultural settings. It emphasizes the changing role of creatives in engaging modern audiences and integrating varied life experiences into mainstream cultural dialogues.
3. Neural Pathways: Art meets neuroscience here, where the personal space of body and mind becomes a canvas for stories that evoke empathy and connection, bridging cultural gaps and building emotional understanding.
4. Civic Stages: These are the public narratives that define community identity and resilience. This segment explores how art and storytelling in public media and community narratives can solidify communal bonds and mobilize collective action around shared values.
5. Program Details

• Virtual Meetings: Two online co-creation sessions on March 6 and March 13, 2025, from 15:00 to 16:30 Central European Time.
• In-person Meeting: A gathering in Salzburg, Austria, from April 6 to April 11, 2025, starting at 15:00 on April 6.

Application Information

The selection process will give priority to applicants from the Majority World*, including regions like Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and parts of the Middle East. The focus is on individuals from underrepresented communities in the arts and culture sector, including people of color, disabled persons, LGBT** community members, and those from low-income, Indigenous, ethnically diverse, or migrant backgrounds. Accepted participants will receive scholarships covering travel, accommodation, and board.
