CM Punjab Honahar Laptop Scheme 2025 by Maryam Nawaz for Students With More than 65% Marks
Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has instructed relevant officials to increase the number of Honahar scholarships to 50,000 in next year’s budget. She expressed that the current 30,000 scholarships are insufficient. “We need to raise the scholarships to 50,000 because public money is a trust that should be spent on people’s welfare,” she stated, adding that soon, scholarships will also be available to second and third-year students. Maryam Nawaz highlighted that these scholarships are awarded without any discrimination to all children across Punjab. She praised the students for their perseverance despite financial hardships and emphasized the scholarships’ merit-based distribution. “Don’t thank me for the scholarships; they are your right and a reward for your hard work,” she said, asserting her commitment to meritocracy by claiming she has never made any appointment based on recommendations.
During the scholarship ceremony at Government College Women’s University in Sialkot, she conveyed her pride in the recipients, calling the Honahar Scholarship Program the largest of its kind in Pakistan’s history. “I am thrilled to see our talented sons and daughters excelling,” she said.
The Chief Minister also referred to herself not just as a leader but as a maternal figure to the students, expressing delight when they call her ‘mother’. “It’s a mother’s duty to pave the way for her children’s success,” she noted.
She further celebrated female students’ achievements, particularly those who topped their classes, emphasizing that women are excelling in all fields. She thanked the Education Minister, Rana Sikandar Hayat, and his team for the program’s success and even had a student sit in her seat as a symbolic gesture.
Addressing the students’ needs, she announced that the first batch of laptops for students scoring over 65% had arrived and she would personally distribute them soon. “I have chosen the best laptops for you,” she assured.
Maryam Nawaz also mentioned the distribution of 100,000 e-bikes to students at no cost and noted positive trends in the economy, expressing hope that students would soon benefit from these improvements.
In her speech, she urged the students to stay vigilant and not be swayed by misleading influences. “Our ultimate boundary is Pakistan,” she declared, emphasizing the importance of serving the country and acknowledging the students’ potential as the country’s future.
She criticized her political opponents for baseless accusations and highlighted their inability to substantiate their claims, contrasting it with her government’s focus on merit and progress. She concluded by stressing the importance of viewing politics through the lens of merit and the country’s need for forward movement rather than stagnation.
